Lake since I will be joining you (in age) come December I want to ask you: do you feel "40"? I still have a difficult time seeing myself in my 40s already. I always thought it would be different than it is. I dunno. I know what you mean though about being 25 just last year. How time does fly...

GL, nah, 40 feels just fine. I've given it so much thought over the last year that the big day was a breeze.

Pat & I went out with 2 other couples that weekend to celebrate. It was very fun, I even got up on a barstool! However, the next day was real bitch (too many margaritas!). But in reality if I'd have drank that much at 25, 30 or 35 I'd still have had a hangover. Age didn't hurt or help me there. Since you don't drink it won't be an issue.

Go have a really nice, really expensive dinner on your b-day and enjoy yourself! Remember it's just one day and it will be behind you before you know it.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't dread turning 40. I actually look at my life now and realize at least I am where I want to be and some people spend an entire lifetime in a place they don't want to be and never change it. I won't ever live anywhere else but Florida the rest of my life no matter what.

On the other hand, I always wanted to be wealthy by the time I was 40. I keep getting close on the lottery but not a winner yet. My cousin took the pressure off a bit for me. She pointed out that I don't have to be wealthy on my 40th birthday to possibly reach my goal. I really have until I turn 41, next year, to meet my deadline. A lot can happen in the next year. I win something on almost every single drawing so I think a big win is just around the corner. If not it's fun trying.
